“Love is our resistance, they’ll keep us apart. And they won’t stop breaking us down”

Muse, recently named ‘Best Act In The World Today’, announce a new single, ‘Resistance’ from their self-produced, multi-platinum selling, global No. 1 album, ‘The Resistance’. The track is released on Warners on February 22nd, 2010.

Since its release in September of this year the album hit the top of the charts in 20 countries around the world including the UK, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Mexico, South Africa, Spain and Thailand among others. It also afforded the band their highest placing on the American Billboard chart to date at No. 3.

This triumphant return has run alongside some absolutely staggering live shows across the world, kicking off in September with two amazing shows on the sea front in their hometown of Teignmouth. They then toured America as special guests to U2 before headlining their own sold out arena tour across Europe. November saw the band play a sell out arena tour at home in the UK, climaxing with two outstanding shows at London’s 02 Arena, as well as taking part in the BBC’s Children In Need Concert on the same day as their opening night!

Late last month they announced two stadium shows for September of 2010 – Wembley Stadium and Lancashire County Cricket Ground. Immediately the dates went on sale, the overwhelming demand for tickets forced promoters to add a second Wembley Stadium show. In addition to selling out stadiums at home, Muse are doing similar business across Europe with sell out shows in mammoth venues including two nights at the Stade de France in Paris, Milan’s 85,000 capacity San Siro, Goffertpark in the Netherlands and Madrid’s Athletico Stadium. The band will also headline many of the major European festivals across the summer including Rock Am Ring (Germany), Roskilde (Denmark) and Werchter (Germany).
