BRITs Week – Breaking Acts Shows – Terms & Conditions

BRITs Week 2019 is presented by BRIT Awards Ltd (“BAL”) and AEG Presents Ltd (“AEG”) (together the “Promoters”) in support of War Child. In 2019 there may be up to three nights dedicated to showcasing breaking acts during the BRITs Week Programme (“Shows”). Below outlines the basic description of BRITs Week and the eligibility criteria & selection process for acts (“Acts”) that wish to be considered to perform as part of the Shows.

Dates

• The Shows will be curated entirely at the Promoters’ discretion and are intended to take place as part of BRITs Week at a London venue on dates between Monday 4 February 2019 and Tuesday 19 February 2019 (inclusive). The Promoters make no guarantee that the Shows will take place and the venue and dates of any Shows shall be determined at the Promoters discretion and advised to the selected Acts.

Costs & Fees

• Acts will not be paid a performance fee but the Promoters will cover all costs in relation to the venue, basic backline, lighting, staging and significant promotion of BRITs Week. Any additional costs will be the responsibility of the Acts and/or their labels / representatives. Any and all proceeds from the sale of tickets to the Shows will be donated to War Child.

Eligibility of Acts

• Label status: Acts should be signed to an independent label and/or distributed by an independent distributor. However, the Promoters will also consider Acts signed to (i) sub-labels of the major record companies (ii) labels partly-owned by the major record companies and/or (iii) distributors owned or partly owned by the major record companies on a case-by-case basis and may in their sole discretion select such Acts for the Shows if they deem appropriate.

• Promotion: In the event that they are selected for the Shows, Acts agree to the following (i) they may be requested to take part in promotional activity in relation to BRITs Week (including without limitation recorded and/or filmed interviews and recordings of the Shows); (ii) they will grant the Promoters the right to use the names and biography of the Act worldwide in any publicity in perpetuity in relation to BRITs Week and (iii) they will submit photographs and possibly audio and/or visual recordings of the Act cleared for the Promoters use worldwide in all media in perpetuity in relation to BRITs Week.

Application & Selection Process

• To be considered, Acts (or their management or label representatives) must complete the Application Form prior to 5pm on 23 November 2018.

• Successful Acts will be chosen by a panel of experts engaged by the Promoters (“Panel”) at the Promoters’ sole discretion. If an Act is being closely considered for one of the Shows the applicant will be contacted by representatives of the Promoters during November 2018 in order to discuss logistical arrangements for the Shows.

• The decision of the Promoters and Panel in relation to the selection of Acts, venues, dates and curation of the Shows shall be final and the Promoters and Panel will not enter into any correspondence or discussion in relation to such decisions.

Data Protection

• By submitting an Act for consideration you acknowledge that the Promoters will use your submitted information (including personal data) as part of the administration and running of the Selection Process and Shows. Any personal data submitted to us will be used solely in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation ((EU) 2016/679) “GDPR” and any national implementing laws, regulations and secondary legislation, as amended or updated from time to time, in the UK and then (ii) any successor legislation to the GDPR or the Data Protection Act 2018 and in line with BAL’s privacy policy.

• Acts may submit themselves, or a person (such as a manager or representative) may submit an Act provided that the members of such Act have consented to being entered and that the entrant is aware of and complies with these terms.
