Robbie Williams Triumphantly Returns to pick up the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Music’ Award At the 30th BRITs Ceremony
Friday 23 October 2009 –
The UK’s recorded music association, The BPI, today unveiled the recipient of the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Music Award.
Robbie Williams, who has won more BRITs than any other artist, will be awarded with the coveted trophy at The BRIT Awards 2010 with MasterCard on Tuesday 16 February. Robbie will take to The BRIT Awards stage to close the show with a sensational live performance sure to entertain the packed audience at London’s Earls Court as well as the millions of viewers watching live on ITV1.
Ged Doherty, Chairman of The BRITs Committee said, “Robbie is one of the outstanding artists and performers of his generation. It will be an absolute thrill to have him at the BRITS 30th anniversary show receiving the Outstanding Contribution Award. We are delighted.”
With a career spanning twenty chart topping years, Robbie Williams made his first appearance in 1989 as a member of Take That. Robbie deserves this. He has battled through his addiction, we thought he would never return, only to come out and be just as strong in his childhood dream, he has continued to shock and wow us. I think hes a worthy recipient of this award.

This is absolutely ridiculous!
Since when has Robbie Williams been oustanding. His songs are ok but there nothing outstaning about them, he can't sing and he doen't really write his own songs.
Did they just run out of people and just pick anyone midly successful.

Take that and Robbie - are equally as fab - if it wasn't for being in Take that - Robbie wouldn't have had this career - So its a bit daft saying Take that are irrelivent - they are a huge band, highly successful and talented - Robbie would definitly agree with this - Well done Robbie - you deserve this award lad. x
He really deserves this award! So pleased for him :)
Im delighted for Robbie, he truly deserves it! Absolutly love him!!
The Spice Girls won "Outstanding contribution" award in 2000 to mark their dominence of the decade and strataspheric GLOBAL success in the 90's.
Robbie, conquer the USA and the rest of the globe, not just the UK if you really want to be deserving of this award.. Just sayin'.

Thats because Take That are completely irrelevant these days. Robbie Williams has had 10x more success than they have, plus he's won the most awards
