The BRITs are the Kiss of Life

20th February, 2008

We just had ourselves a chat with Martine McCutcheon and Jason Donovan as they strutted down the red carpet. They’re here, according to Martine, to “support British music.” Jason has other motivations: “I’m hungry, and I want a drink.”

Martine might bunk off the tail end of the show because she has a 4am wake up to do a beauty program. She might just get in a spot of partying however, “If anyone can convince me to stay out, it’s Jason.”

She wasn’t much of a BRIT watcher herself when she was younger. But she’s mended her ways. “To be honest,” she said, “the BRITs were the kiss of death. Now it turns out that it’s not that way at all.” Artists who get a BRIT award these days see rampant success from it, think unkonwn ADELE whose single hit the big time after her BRITs win.
