Voting period, from 23rd January to 8th February 2010 - VOTING CLOSED

The International Breakthrough Act category is supported by MTV.  There are 5 international breakthrough acts selected by The BRITs voting academy, to choose from.  MTV viewers may cast one free online vote for your favourite act within the entire voting period.   Any additional votes that you make will be discounted. The winner will be the act which receives the most votes once the vote has closed.

‘British Breakthrough Act’ – Supported by Radio 1 listeners

Voting period, from 6th February to 12th February 2010 @ 19:00 GMT - VOTING LIVE

The British Breakthrough category is nationally supported by BBC Radio 1.  There are 5 breakthrough acts selected by the BRITs voting academy, to choose from. Radio 1 listeners may cast one free online vote for your favourite breakthrough act within the entire voting period.  Any additional votes that you make will be discounted. The winner will be the act which receives the most votes once the vote has closed.

'British Single' – Supported by UK Commercial Radio listeners and associated with Sun readers

Voting period, from 25th January to 7th February 2010 - VOTING CLOSED

The British Single category is supported by Commercial Radio stations throughout the United Kingdom and The Sun newspaper. The 10 nominated singles have been selected by the greatest volume of commercial radio air-play as well as sales results in the 2009 calendar year.  Commercial Radio listeners may cast one free online vote for your favourite single within the entire voting period.  Any additional votes that you make will be discounted. The winner will be the single which receives the most votes once the vote has closed.

‘BRIT Album of 30 Years’ – Chosen by Radio 2 listeners

Voting period, from 19th January to 28th January 2010 - VOTING CLOSED

The British Album of 30 years category is supported by BBC Radio 2. The 10 nominated albums are decided by sales figures over the last 29 years, and they also must be a past BRIT Award winner, in the Album category.  Radio 2 listeners may cast one free online vote for your favourite BRITs Album of 30 years within the entire voting period.  Any additional votes that you make will be discounted. The winner will be the Album which receives the most votes once the vote has closed.
