Arctic Monkeys and Katy Perry to perform at the BRITs 2014

With six BRIT Awards between them, Arctic Monkeys and Katy Perry are both set to play at the BRITs 2014 on February 19, 2014, at London’s O2 Arena.

As two of the biggest artists on the planet, it will be the first time either of them have performed at the ceremony which will be exclusively broadcast live on ITV in the UK.

Having headlined Glastonbury and released their fifth album, AM, earlier this year the Arctic Monkeys will open the show. Along with Manic Street Preachers they are the only band to have won Best Group and the prestigious MasterCard British Album twice.

They are the perfect embodiment of what it means to be an influential artist in 2013 and their booking highlights the celebration of great British music which will run through the evening.

Of course the Awards do also celebrate the best music from around the world and inviting global superstar Katy Perry to perform sums that up. The winner of International Female Solo Artist in 2009 was No. 1 on iTunes in 72 countries with her last single Roar, and said: “The BRITs has always showcased the music that I love and am influenced by.

“It's an honour to play at such a prestigious event where musicality shines at its brightest."
