British Single
Voting promoted from: 7:30pm 12 January 2012 – 12:00pm 17th February 2012
The British Single category is voted for by listeners of Capital FM radio stations throughout the United Kingdom and users of iTunes. The 10 nominated singles have been selected based on the greatest volume of commercial radio air-play, as well as sales results in the 2011 calendar year. Capital FM listeners and iTunes users may cast one free online vote for their favourite single within the entire voting period. Any additional votes they make after that will be discounted. The winner will be the single which receives the most votes once the vote has closed.

British Group

The British Group category is nationally supported by BBC Radio 2. There are five groups to choose from, selected by The BRIT Awards Voting Academy. BBC Radio 2 listeners may cast one free online vote for their favourite act within the entire voting period. Any additional votes they make after that will be discounted. The winner will be the act which receives the most votes once the vote has closed.

British Breakthrough Act

The British Breakthrough category is nationally supported by BBC Radio 1. There are 5 breakthrough acts, selected by the BRIT Awards Voting Academy, to choose from. BBC Radio 1 listeners may cast one free online vote for their favourite breakthrough act within the entire voting period. Any additional votes they make after that will be discounted. The winner will be the act which receives the most votes once the vote has closed.
