The BRITs 2012: show performers

Boy have we got a show lined up for you. As the biggest British music awards, it's only fitting that the greatest artists - from the UK and beyond - take to the stage at The BRIT Awards 2012 with MasterCard. From a Barbadian pop megastar to the man behind one of the biggest rock bands of the past 20 years, here's a full rundown of all the BRITs 2012 performers announced so far...

Rihanna
Rihanna at the BRITS is becoming something of a regular event! The worldwide pop sensation first took to the BRITs stage in 2008 to perform her breakthrough smash 'Umbrella' alongside indie darlings of the time, the Klaxons. She returned to perform solo in 2011, stunning the audience with a medley of hits from her Loud album, as well as winning the International Female Solo Artist award.

Coldplay
Also no stranger to The BRIT Awards, Coldplay return for an impressive fifth time as a headline act, amid rumours that they will duet with fellow performer, Rihanna. The all-conquering Brit band made their debut in 2001, performing their classic hit 'Trouble' and returned in 2003 to perform 'Clocks'. They performed album track 'Square One' in 2006 and last graced The BRITs stage in 2009 with the incredible 'Viva La Vida'. The band also boast an impressive six BRIT Award wins.

Noel Gallagher
A newly solo star in the music industry, Noel Gallagher is obviously a dab hand at award shows and stadium performances, having rocked the world for 18 years with brother Liam in Britpop royalty, Oasis. Noel last performed on the BRITs stage in 2007 when Oasis collected their Outstanding Contribution to Music award, performing a medley of some of their biggest hits.

Florence & The Machine
The last time Florence Welch performed on The BRIT Awards stage, she scored herself a No.1 hit with her Dizzee Rascal duet, 'You Got The Dirtee Love' in 2010. Now, riding on the success of her second album Ceremonials, Florence returns to The BRIT Awards stage for what is sure to be a showstopping slice of uplifting epic pop.

Ed Sheeran
The man everyone is talking about at this year's event, with four nominations to his name, it is only right to have Ed Sheeran on the BRITs stage! Ed's runaway success over the past twelve months is thanks, in part, to his excellent (and very much deserved) reputation as a live performer. Having already stunned the audience at BRITs 2012 nominations launch with a performance of 'Give Me Love', we're excited to see what Ed has in store for his stadium spot at the February event.

Bruno Mars
In little over a year, Bruno Mars has gone from the backroom boy of pop, penning smash hits for other artists, to a bonafide global megastar. Known for his showstopping performances, channeling the spirit of classic rock and roll and blending it with a superb soul vocal, the Hawaiian hitmaker has more than enough chart toppers to pick from when it comes to his BRITs 2012 performance.

Adele
Where do we begin? There's no question that Adele stole the show at The BRITs 2011, and it is very likely she'll do the same this year too. One year ago, this british soul singer took to the stage to sing her album track, 'Someone Like You'. A year on, that track is the most downloaded track of 2011 and a chart topper the world over. Needless to say, the bar is set high on this one - but if there is any artist guaranteed to deliver, it's Adele.

Blur
The last time Blur performed on The BRIT Awards stage, it was 1995 and the UK was in the grip of Britpop fever. Blur won four BRIT Awards and performed their hit, 'Girls & Boys'. In 2012 the legendary band return to receive the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award and make a rare television performance. The band split in 2009, but after a string of recent festival dates and constant rumours of a full reunion in the not-too-distant future, this is sure to be a must watch performance at the BRITs 2012.

Olly Murs
From X Factor runner-up to solo chart topper and Xtra Factor TV host, Olly Murs rise to success has been nothing short of spectacular. Nominated for Best British Single in 2011, Olly picks up a nod this year for the same award - only this time he'll be taking to the BRITs stage to perform as well.
