BRITs to go global with live stream and vote

We’re pleased to announce two big firsts for the BRIT Awards in 2014: the event will be live streamed on the BRITs YouTube channel around the globe; and fans worldwide for the first time will be allowed to vote for British Video during the show using Twitter.

The entire planet will now be able to share in Britain's most prestigious music event and watch performances from superstars like Arctic Monkeys, Katy Perry and Bruno Mars.

It’s the first time a show of this scale has been live broadcast globally by YouTube.

In another major first, audiences around the world will be able to vote for British Video on Twitter with the winner announced during the live show. The nominees for this category will be unveiled on a YouTube playlist – which you can find here – on February 10 with voting opening as the Awards begin nine days later.

UK viewers will be able to watch the event on ITV 1 and ITV Player.
