Jessie J continued the BRITs Critics’ Choice trend of being awarded to female vocalists as she collected her Award from 2010 winner Ellie Goulding and Mark Ronson.
Not quite the beginning… As eight years earlier in 2003, Jessie – performing under her real name Jessica Cornish – won Best Pop Singer in talent contest Britain’s Brilliant Prodigies, joining the BRIT School the following year.
Domino was the second No. 1 single Jessie had on her debut album Who You Are, after Price Tag also claimed the top spot and helped her become the first UK female solo artist to get six Top 10 singles from just one album.
After being tipped by Critics as one to watch at the start of her career, Jessie became a judge herself on BBC talent show The Voice, alongside Tom Jones, will.i.am and Danny O’Donoghue.
A year after singing with will.i.am at the Queen’s Jubilee Concert in 2011 she was invited to take the stage with the original band members of Queen at the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Games for an extra special rendition of We Will Rock You.
