The 1975, Bastille, Biffy Clyro, Little Mix and Radiohead are nominated for British Group

BRITISH GROUP NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED

It’s a heavyweight battle this year in the category for British Group with The 1975, Bastille, Biffy Clyro, Little Mix and Radiohead all competing for the trophy.

Radiohead are no strangers to this category, having been nominated six times previously - overall they’ve had 16 nominations at The BRITs without ever taking one home. Could it be their year?

Biffy Clyro have also been previously nominated in this category, missing out in 2011 when they were pipped to the trophy by Take That. Bastille, who won British Breakthrough Act three years ago, are also nominated in this category for the second time, following their nod in 2014 - a year which saw them up for a total of four awards.

This is the second category that The 1975 are nominated in this year; they’re also up for Mastercard British Album of the Year for their second album ‘i like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it.’

The final nominees in the British Group category are Little Mix. Alongside Skepta, they are the most nominated artist of The BRITs 2017, with three nominations in total. They’re also up for British Video with ‘Hair’ feat. Sean Paul, and British Single for ‘Shout Out To My Ex’. Last year Little Mix received two nominations for their single ‘Black Magic’, which they also performed as part of the star-studded show.

The BRIT Awards 2017 take place at The O2, London on 22 February and will be broadcast live on ITV. You can see all the nominations here.
