Review

Robbie Williams made it five BRIT Awards in two years (bringing him a total of nine in seven) while Travis and Macy Gray both doubled up. The brand new BRIT Award for Best British Pop Act went to Five – who had opened the show with Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor – while a special award for Best Selling British Live Act in 1999 was collected by Steps.

Oldest ever BRIT Award winner Tom Jones (59) joined The Stereophonics, Geri Halliwell earned some tabloid headlines for her performance, Ronnie Wood had an on-stage altercation and the Spice Girls took the Outstanding Contribution award.
