The Critics' Choice winner from 12-months earlier, Emeli Sandé, was the big winner at the BRITs 2013, winning Best Female Solo Artist and MasterCard British Album of the Year. 

Singer-songwriter Ben Howard also picked up two Awards - British Breakthrough Act and British Male Solo Artist - as James Corden hosted the event for the third time from the O2 Arena, London. 

Other winners on the night were Mumford & Sons, Adele, Frank Ocean, Lana Del Rey, The Black Keys, Coldplay, Tom Odell, Paul Epworth and One Direction, while War Child was given the Special Recognition Award presented by Damon Albarn

There were also some spectacular artists who took to the stage including Justin Timberlake, who marked his return to music by sharing Mirrors with the world for the first time live, Muse opened the night with an incredible wall of musicians supporting them, and there were more show-stopping performances from Taylor Swift, Robbie Williams, One Direction, Ben Howard, Mumford & Sons and Emeli Sandé.
