The BRITs 2012

The 2012 BRIT Awards were hosted by James Corden, and took place on Tuesday 21 February, and featured some of the most remarkable talent in music. The high energy tone was set with Coldplay's opening performance of "Charlie Brown", and continued with unforgettable performances from Florence + the Machine, Olly Murs and Rizzle Kicks, Ed Sheeran, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and Chris Martin, Adele, Bruno Mars and Rihanna. The show was closed with a spectacular performance from Blur, who were awarded the Oustanding Contribution to music, as presented to them by Ray Winstone. 

Some of 2012's brightest stars were battling it out for the newly restyled Sir Peter Blake bespoke statue. Winners included Ed Sheeran, Rihanna, Lana Del Rey, Coldplay, Adele, One Direction and Bruno Mars.

Amy Winehouse and Whitney Houston were remembered in special tributes celebrating their lives.
